Members of the Brunswick High School Class of ’59 created this Education Award in 2009 on the occasion of their 50th high school reunion. In 1959, not all class members had access to funds which would have enabled them to further their education beyond high school. In establishing this Education Award, the Class of 1959 has created an annual opportunity for a current or recent graduate of Brunswick or Mt. Ararat High Schools to undertake an apprenticeship, to take a course related to their career goals, or to pursue a post-secondary certificate or degree.
Awards from this fund are based on student financial need, after which recipients are requested to be graduates of Brunswick or Mt. Ararat High School either as a member of the current graduating class or of one of the previous three years’ graduating classes.
