Jill E. Mason was only 15 years old when she passed away on August 23, 1982 as a result of complications during treatment of aplastic anemia, a bone marrow failure.
An Honor Student at Brunswick High School, she was Secretary of the Class of 1984, a cheerleader for both the boys’ basketball and football teams, and a member of the girls’ lacrosse team. She played the flute in the Brunswick High School Band and enjoyed figure skating. Jill was a member of the First Parish Church where she participated in the Church Choirs and also was an assistant Sunday School teacher.
Her parents and friends set up this scholarship in her honor. Awards from this fund are based on student financial need, after which recipients are requested to be graduates of Brunswick High School.
